This site was inspired by a month-long fall writing project, during which I made my first reckless attempts at writing fiction.

I was born, and continue to wander in and around Cleveland, Ohio. Coming of age during the early, widespread adoption of the internet, this city and surrounding towns have rusted in front of my eyes. I am not a professional writer, but as story and description have become more important to me in recent years, I decided there was no point in letting my visions and ideas rot in the darkness. These masses of old steel and crumbling bricks have driven me to push back against the apathy and hopelessness of my surroundings.

"People have begun to lose their hopes, and forget their dreams, so The Nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It is like a despair destroying this world, and I have been trying to help it, because people who have no hopes are easy to control." — Gmork (The Neverending Story)

It is my hope that other writers and artists may stumble on some of my work, and be inspired in their own unique ways, since much of the catalyst of my own creative process has come from communion with other artists.

In a personal regard, writing helps me become a better communicator, not just in written form, but verbal, and knowing that my work might be seen by others forces me to be more objective in determining if I'm improving. Writing something with the anticipation of others reading it helps push my standards to a higher level. I know my best work is yet to come, and this is the bridge to get me there.
